The foundation of family therapy is built upon the theory that change and growth comes from the entire family system as opposed to an individual. Family therapy utilizes a systemic approach to therapy in which the therapist integrates multiple family members in therapeutic approaches to support the individual and family system as a whole.
Knowing that children learn and communicate through play, Creative Forces offers play-based family therapy services. The intention of family therapy services at Creative Forces is to increase family attachment, connection, and communication through the use of playful modalities and interactions. This may involve playing a game, engaging in imaginative play, or working collaboratively on an art project. Additionally, family therapy provides a safe space for processing and exploration. The therapist may also provide psychoeducational support to the parents or caregiver to better understand regulatory supports, characteristics of diagnoses, and brain-body communication (such as challenging behaviors).
Family therapy services pay include an entire family unit, parent & child, or sibling dyads.
